Drug research on cytomegalovirus retinitis of patients with AIDS

Cytomegalovirus(CMV)retinitis is the most common cause of vision loss in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS),and affect people's health seriously.People of all ages can be infected with CMV,especially newborns,patients of organ transplants,and immunodeficiency such as HIV/AIDS.At the beginning of infecting with CMV patients frequently remain asymptomatic or some develop an influenza-like syndrome characterized by fever,chills,malaise,myalgias,and arthralgias.At present,the therapy of CMV retinitis's medicines includes ganciclovir,foscarnet,cidofovir,valganciclovir,ganciclovir implants.Then ganciclovir implants and oral valganciclovir have been widely used in the therapy of CMV retinitis.
