Abstract
Objective:To study the clinical feature and treatment of ovarian neoplasms in women aged below 20 years. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 174 patients of ovarian neoplasms aged below 20 during the period of 1982-2006 in Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Results:The majority of patients(67.2%) presented with abdominal pain, abdominal distention and a large pelvic mass.In the patients,144 cases(82.8%) are with benign tumors and 30 cases(17.2%) are with malignant tumors. The histological types included ovarian germ cell tumor in 97 cases(55.8%),epithelial ovarian tumor in 42(24.1%),ovarian sex cord stromal tumor in 8(4.6%) and tumor-like disease in 27(15.5%).In the epithelial ovarian tumors, there are 76.2% cases belong to mucinous tumor. There are great differences in the ratios of the epithelial ovarian tumor and the tumor-like disease between the groups before and after the menarche.Of the patients with malignant ovarian germ cell tumor, the 10-year survival rate is higher in the group whose fettility were preserved. Conclusion:The majority type of the ovarian tumor in women aged below 20 years is benign tumor and ovarian germ cell tumor, and the most histological type is mucinous tumor.Menarche is an important factor in consideration of the histological type.It is better to preserve the fertility of the patients with malignant tumor. We should pay attention to the symptoms of the group and examine them in time.
