Abstract

The bioecology characteristics of Mallotus taoyuanensis C.L.Peng et L.H.Yan from Taoyuan county of Hunan province was systematically observed and researched,checking taxonomic characteristics of more than 140 species in Mallotus Lour.naturally distributed in the world.It was found that M.taoyuanensis,with alternate leaves,pinnate leaf vein,leafbase delays and leaftype inconformity,is completely different from the characteristics of existing sections of Mallotus Lour..Thus a new section,Sect.Qiana M.taoyuanensis C.L.Peng et L.H.Yan,was established to perfect the classification system of Mallotus Lour.section.
