Abstract
The PP-g-MA / PA6 and the PP / PA6 blends were prepared by melt blending process. The morphologies, crystal structure and mechanical properties of these composites were investigated by SEM,XRD and mechanical testing. The results indicated that the impact strength of PA6 was improved and the formation of α-crystalline of PA6 was induced in the presence of appropriate PP or PP-g-MA content. The PP-g-MA / PA6 composites exhibited higher impact strength while maintaining relatively higher tensile, fiexural and compressive properties than the corresponding uncompatibilized PP / PA6 counterpart. The better comprehensive properties were obtained at a 10 /90 combination of PP-g-MA / PA6 due to better interfacial adhesion between PP-g-MA and PA6.
