Abstract
To explore the effect of Shenluotong( SLT) on lipid metabolism and TNF-α expression in rats with mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis( Ms PGN),the improved chronic serum sickness nature Ms PGN model was made and TC,TG,HDL,LDL were assayed with automatic biochemistry analyzer. At the same time,the expression of TNF-α and TNF-α mRNA was observed and analyzed with the semi-definite quantity analysis with immunohistochemistry staining and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction( RT-PCR). The results showed the serum TC,TG,LDL in two treatment groups were decreased significantly( P 0. 01,P 0. 05). HDL was increased significantly( P 0. 01). TC in SLT was significantly higher( P 0. 01) than that of Tripterygium wilfordii( TW) group. TG,HDL were slightly lower than that of TW group. LDL was equivalent in the two treatment groups,but there was no statistical significance between SLT and TW group( P 0. 01). SLT can down-regulate the expression of TNF-α and TNF-α mRNA in kidney and there were significant differences between SLT group and model group( P 0. 01,P 0. 05),there was no statistical significance between two treatment groups( P 0. 05). These results suggested that SLT can effectively improve high blood lipid,and played a role in inhibiting the secretion of TNF-α and the expression of TNF-α mRNA in glomerulus. Hence,SLT can delay the progression of the disease.
