Abstract

A Major geological event--Rodinia breakup occurred in the Meso-Neoproterozoic period. The recent study shows that the Jinning orogeny in the south China plate was related to the Rodinia breakup. A great amount of geological data indicate that metallic deposits hosted by the Pre-Cambrian on the Kangdian axis were formed 900-700 Ma ago and associated with large-scale basic and acidic magmatism and closely related with tectonic and hydrothermal process during the Jinning-Chengjiang epoch. Tectonic setting where the deposits were formed was an extensional environment which might be correlated to the Rodinia breakup. This paper deals with the response of the above-mentioned mineralization to the Rodinia breakup in terms of isotope geochronology and sedimentary environment.
