Abstract
On the basis of literature review on mutual relationship between urban transport system and urban space pattern both in home and abroad, this paper studies mutual mechanism between urban transport system and urban space pattern in Guangzhou, a metropolis of south China, in terms of documents, data and on-the-spot investigation. Firstly, the mutual mechanism between urban trans- port system and urban space pattern are analyzed. Then, the impacts of urban transport system on the urban space pattern are examined. Thirdly, the feed back effects of urban space pattern on urban trans- port system layout are discussed. Finally, a brief con- clusion is drawn on that there is interplay between urban transport system and urban space pattern of Guangzhou.
