Abstract
Objective To evaluate the curative effect of the combined treatment with Sulfasalazine and Medilac-S for ulcerative colitis. Methods 47 cases with light or moderate ulcerative colitis at active stage were randomly divided into 2 groups: treatment group(n=24),receiving Sulfasalazine and Medilac-S and control group(n=23),receiving Sulfasalazine only;the curative effect, the reoccurrence in 6 months, the change of main symptoms before and after treatment and the drug adverse reaction were evaluated. Results The total effective rate of treatment group(95.83%) was significantly higher than that of control group(78.26%)(P0.05);there existed an obvious difference in symptom relief, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucus bloody stool and tenesmus, between the 2 groups after treatment(P0.05);the adverse reaction in treatment group was slight. Conclusions the combined treatment with Sulfasalazine and Medilac-S is of better curative effect for ulcerative colitis and it can reduce the reoccurrence.
