Mini-laparoscopic Treatment of Inguinal Hernia in Children( A Report of 30 Cases)

Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of mini-laparoscopy in the treatment of inguinal hernia in children. Methods With the help of mini-laparoscope,30 children aged from 2 to 11 years were treated by purse-string ligature of the internal ring for their inguinal hernias between December 2000 and January 2002. Results The duration of operations were 10 to 20 minutes. There was no intra- or postoperative complication. There was no recurrence over half to one year follow-up. Conclusion It is quick, convenient and safe for the treatment of ingunal hernia in children.
