On Significance of Confucianism Culture of Filial Piety Spreading to Hakka Region

Encouraging Filial Piety was a nuclear aspect of Confucianism,and ruling by Filial Piety was always put into practice in ancient Chinese political society and had an enormous influence on regional community.This paper describes the origin and evolvement of Filial Piety ideas and their political practice,illustrates the official commendations and rewards to Wu-Shi-Tong-Tang Families,the special huge joint families,in Hakka region in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and further points out that the measure of ruling by Filial Piety have contributed to the construction of Hakka culture.
