Abstract
The extraction of polysaccharide fromCimicifuga foetidaand its effect of removal of hydroxyl radicals was studied. The crude Polysaccharide was extracted fromCimicifuga foetidausing hot water-ethanol method. The free radical cleaning effect was studied employing colorimentry method. The results showed that the polysaccharide had the ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals, which had the dose-effect relationship with the concentration of polysaccharide that was 2.4mg/mL when scavenging 50% hydroxyl radicals.
