Abstract

This study focus on the importance of soil factors to the quality of arable land, and get Nong'an County,Jilin Province as a case. Based on date from farmland evaluation in Nong 'an County, making sure what soil factor limit the quality of arable land and proposing targeted soil improvement method. Then calculate the degree of arable land quality and analysis the effect of soil improvement to the degree of arable land quality. The results show that there are three soil factors exist to limit the quality of arable land in experimental zone, they are soil organic content, soil construction and soil pH. Through improvement of these soil factors in different combination, the national natural degree of arable land quality from 11 to 10 and national utilizable degree from 10 to 9 at most in Nong 'an county. Correspondingly, the national natural degree index of arable land quality from 1 756 to 2 345 and national utilizable degree index from 1 003 to 1 242 at most. Soil improvement can play an important role in arable land quality enhancement.
