Abstract

Thirty-two,90 or 120 day old chickens which were hybrided by Huaixiang chicken ♂× Princess chicken ♀(half male and half female)were randomly selected and then killed to analyze the carcass performance and meat quality respectively.The results showed that the leg muscle ratio of male chickens at age of120 d was significantly higher than that of female chickens at age of90,120d(P0.05),and there was no significant difference in the leg muscle ratio between same gender chickens(P 0.05).The abdominal fat rate did not differ between male and female(P 0.05) at age of 90 days,but the significant different was observed between male and female at age of 120 days(P0.01),and between female at age of 120 days and all chickens at age of 90 days(P0.05).The abdominal fatty rate of 120 d male was higher significantly than that of chickens at 90 days(P 0.05).There were no significant difference in other carcass indices(P0.05).There was no significant difference(P 0.05) in pH value,meat color,the concentrations of DM,CP,ASH of breast muscle and leg muscle in chickens at age of 120d when compared with those of chickens at age of 90 d,however the drip losing of breast and leg muscle in chickens at age of 120d was significantly smaller(P0.05)than that of chickens at age of 90d.
