Abstract

The molybdate passivation film formed on zinc coating was investigated by using contrast test and orthogonality test. Some analytical methods were used to character the effect of passivation parameters, such as neuter salt spray test, moist heat test, salt solution soaking test and X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS).The results show that the process is simple and relative cheap to operate;the passivation film is of the elements of Zn,Mo,O;corrosion-resistance of zinc coating increases obviously after it is treated with molybdate passivation liquid, and the white rust is not observed when it is dipped in 3.5% NaCl solution for 48 h.
