Clinical experience of Qiliqiangxin capsule in treatment of patients with chronic congestive heart failure

Objective To study the clinical effect of Qiliqiangxin capsule in treatment of patients with chronic congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods 68 CHF patients were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=34) and the control group(n=34)and both groups were all enhanced cardiac contractility and diuretic etc routine therapy of Western medicine but the treatment group treated with Qiliqiangxin capsule.The immunity,the heart function,the six minutes walking experiment and the quality of life score were observed after five-month treatment(a course).Results The improvement rate of immunity in treatment group was higher than that in control group after 1,5 months(P0.05).Long-term effects of improving the immunity in treatment group were superior to that in control group.Improvement rate of cardiac function in treatment group was higher than that in control group after 1,3 and 5 months(P0.05).The six minutes walking distance after treatment group was increased as compared with those before treatment in two groups after 3 and 5 months(P0.05,P0.01).The improvement in treatment group was obvious.Conclusion Qiliqiangxin capsule can improve heart function,is cardiac diuretic but the slow onset and better long-term effect;long-term application can benefit qi to warm yang,benefit qi and consolidating superficies,and enhance immune function,reduce the respiratory morbidity,lower readmission rates.
