Abstract
The study measures the agglomeration degree of China's 18 manufacturing industries from 1988 to 2007 by using the index developed by Ellision and Glaeser. The results indicate that the overall agglomeration degree of China's manufacturing industry has heightened from 1988.The China's manufacturing industry assembles mostly in the east. But the agglomeration degree of China's manufacturing industry has declined after 2005,and the proportion of the manufacturing industry in the middle and the west has heightened.
