Abstract
ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is the most noticed technology in xDSL family. It enables high-speed data transfer and rapid access to the internet via ordinary telephone lines, with a secure connection straight into the high-speed network. Also, ADSL adopts point-to-point architecture, which brings more flexibility to set up networks.This paper illustrates the architecture of ATM(Asynchronous transfer mode) over ADSL broadband access network and implements hardware function designs of ATM over ADSL. Finally,give some points on the development of the ADSL technology.
