Abstract

The staggered truss-shear wall structural system is a new flexible space structural system for tall residential buildings.The earthquake response of the staggered truss-shear wall system,the staggered truss system and the shear wall system are studied,then the results of their analyses are compared.The results show that the seismic performance of the staggered truss-shear wall system is better than that of the later two,and the staggered truss-shear wall system not only increases the structural space but also decreases the requirements of the floor for flexible space structure.Meanwhile,shear wall may balance two-way rigidity of the staggered truss system.The staggered truss-shear wall system is worth further studying its spread and application to tall residential building.
