Abstract
Objective To evaluate the accuracy and feasibility of our self-made three-dimensional ultrasound reconstruction (3D-UR) system in human vascular reconstruction. Methods The degree and ratio of artery stenosis were measured by 3D-UR in 15 patients with carotid artery stenosis and were verified by digital subtraction angiography subsequently. The correlation analysis was performed to assess the relation of the stenotic ratios measured by the two methods above. Results There was no statistically significant difference (P0.05) between the stenotic ratios measured by these two methods, and high positive correlations were found (r=0.977). Conclusion 3D-UR system, which was made by ourselves, is feasible and accurate for human checking. Using the 3D-UR system the progression and the regression of atherosclerotic plaques can be oberserved dynamically and we can provide an important basis for physicians and surgeons to make a reasonable plan.
