Abstract
The removal efficiency of Cu2 + static adsorption from berberin wastewater by powdered activated carbon was studied in a batch adsorption system.Factors affecting copper ion adsorption, such as pH(1.0-5.0),adsorbent dosage(5-50 g /L) and reaction time(20-600 min),were investigated. When the pH was 2.4 and the adsorbent dosage was 30 g /L,the equilibrium of the adsorption process was established in about 300 min.A comparison of kinetic models and isotherm models of adsorption showed that the adsorption system was better described by a second-order adsorption kinetic model. The adsorption equilibrium data fit better with the Langmuir isotherm than with the Freundlich isotherm.
