Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Bax and Bcl-2 protein in myocyte apoptosis in the infarct area in the patients with sudden death. Methods TUNEL was applied to monitor the myocyte apoptosis Bcl-2 and Bax protein expressions were assessed by immunohistochemistry, and correlation analysis was performed. Results The amount of opoptotic myocytes and the expression of Bax protein in infarct area in the patients with sudden death was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).The amount of apoptotic myocytes in the infarct area was positively correlated to Bax protein expression. The expression of Bcl-2 positive protein in myocytes of the infarct area was significantly lower than that in control group(P0.05).The amount of apoptotic myocytes in the infarct area was negatively correlated to Bcl-2 protein expression. There was a negative correlation between the Bcl-2 positive expression and cell apoptosis. Conclusion There is a clear apoptosis in infarctive cardiac cell of the patients with sudden death and it is influenced by Bax and Bcl-2 protein induced Bcl-2 expression of cardiac muscle cell may be a new way to explore the biological therapeutic measures.
