Abstract

Nonylphenol polyethoxylates(NPnEO) a kind of environmental endocrine disruptors,are widely used in detergents,emulsifiers and pesticide additives,etc.Its chemical property and its release mechanism and harms to the environment are simply introduced.The occurrence and fate of nonylphenol polyethoxylates(NPnEO) in Membrane bioreactor(MBR) is summarized in this paper.The biodegradation of NPnEO is analyzed.The adsorption behavior between the activated sludge and NPnEO and the retention of NPnEO by membrane are discussed.The factors affecting the process of nonylphenol polyethoxylates biodegradation in anaerobic or aerobic conditions are also discussed,such as temperature,HRT,SRT and so on.
