Ankylosing spondylitis and anterior uveitis of 35 cases

Abstract

Objective To investgate the realationship on anterior uveitis with ankylosing spondylitis(AS) and its clinical implication.Methods 35 cases of AS accompany anterior uveitis were analyzed by its clinical feature,HLA B 27 antigen and radiological examination.Results All the patients appeared acute anterior uveitis(AAU),there were 25 cases of HLA B 27 positive,and radiological examination showed sacroilitis in all patients.Conclusion Anterior uveitis and AS are associatied closely.HLA B 27 and radiological examination are helpful in early diagnosis of AS in patients with anterior uveitis for which the causes are unknown.
