Port Function Transformation and the Spatial Organization Optimization of PortCity Interface: a Case Study of Wusong, the First Portal of the Yangtze River

Under the land and sea integrated strategy, China's coastal cities' port function transformed gradually. As the connection of the port and city, the spatial organization of port-city interface need optimization. Wusong, the First portal of the Yangtze River, as the typical case, for example, from the fishing port, naval port, commercial port, industrial port and then to the international cruise port. Based on the historical geography and field research methods, the results showed that the port of Wusong continuous restructuring and port-city interface spatial organization also showed the evolution of banding type, group type and compound type. The factors of the spatial organization evolution are the domestic and international situation changes, changes in the organization of industrial space, administrative division adjustment factors together. Through innovation management system, co-ordinate shoreline planning and layout, enhance port-city interface accessibility, the spatial organization optimization of port- city interface must make efforts to resolve the port function,industrial layout, port-city relationship coordination. We are looking forward to having significance on the port functional transformation and the land and sea integrated strategy of China's coastal cities.
