The Impact of the Language Policy on Minority Languages

The paper analyses the impacts of national language policies on language maintenance and,shift,practice,practical need and language planning.Argues that the implementation of the language policy will results in different effects because of the different background,and effective language policies must have strong linkage with language planning,for the language policies will influences all parts of the national life.Furthermore,language policies have negligible impact on home use,and legal provisions may allow speakers of minority languages to claim some public space for their languages and cultures.
