Abstract
On the basis of Jurassic high resolution sequence stratigraphic researches in Hefei Basin, this paper discusses the sequence stratigraphic framework and inner structure of the foreland basin. The results show that Hefei Basin is a foreland basin in Jurassic and exhibits seven main isochronous surfaces. One tectonic sequence, three sequence sets and six sequences have been distinguished according to the characters and level of sequence surfaces. The research indicates that the distribution of sedimentary slope-break and the formation and evolution of sequence surfaces and sedimentary units are controlled by tectonic subsidence of the foreland basin, caused by the northward thrusting and overriding of the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt.
