Abstract

Using the theory of social exclusion, this paper focuses on the social equity of urban transportation in China. The paper concludes that with rapid urbanization and motorization,the urban mobility and social exclusion in China not only have similarities with western countries,but also show the characteristics of a transitional society(from planned to market economy).This paper analyses the mechanisms,processes and social consequences caused by urban mobility,and then proposes social policies to reduce exclusion.
