Abstract

Aim To isolate and identify Japanese encephalitis(JE)B virus from mosquitoes collected in high JE prevalence area of Guangxi Province. Methods Mosquitoes samples were collected in high JE B prevalence area of Guangxi Province.Japanese encephalitis B virus was isolated by incubating C6/36 and BHK21 cells with mosquito homogenizations.RT-PCR was used to identify the isolates.E genes of the virus were sequenced and genotype of the virus was analyzed by bioinformatics softwares. Results A total of 12 102 mosquitoes were collected and processed for virus isolation.Four strains of genetype Ⅰ Japanese encephalitis B virus were obtained from Culex tritaeniorhynchus collected in Beiliu and Guiping.E gene nucleic acid and amino acid homology of 4 strains was up to 98.3% and 99.8% respectively. Conclusion There 4 genetype ⅠJapanese encephalitis B virus were isolated from mosquitoes collected in Guangxi province.
