Abstract

In this paper,the characteristics of the distribution of Permian floras in Xizang(Tibet)is summarized and discussed.On the basis of the analysis of the floral components and characters,Permian paleophytogeographical provinces can be divided into three units in Xizang:the northern fringe of Gondwanan floral province of the southern Xizang(the Himalayan region),the Cathaysia—Gondwana floral transitional province of the central Xizang(the Gangdise—Nyainqentanglha region)and Cathaysian floral province of the northern Xizang(the Tanglha region).
