Abstract

Objective:To observe the effect of CO_2 pneumoperitoneum on gastric intramucosal pH(pHi) of aged patients. Methods: 40 patients being given laparoscopic cholecystectomy were divided into elderly group(age≥65,n=20) and adult group(age≤55,n=20). pHi,PaCO_2,P(i-a)CO_2,PETCO_2 were monitored before pneumoperitoneum(T_1)30min after pneumoperitoneum(T_2) and 30min after relieving pneumoperitoneum(T_3)respectively. Results: pHi of elderly group at T_2,T_3 was significantly lower than that at T_1, Reversely, PaCO_2,P(i-a)CO_2,P_ ETCO_2 at T_2,T_3 were significantly higher than that at T_1 . There were significant difference of T_2,T_3 indexes in elderly group compared with those in adult group. Conclusion:CO_2 pneumoperitoneum may decrease pHi of aged patients during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
