Abstract

In order to study the influence of terrestrial pollutants on the Shanghai Sea,the seasonal change of pollutant flux entering the sea from the Changjiang River, the pollution contribution rate of the Changjiang River and the Huangpu River to the Shanghai Sea,the main pollutants of both rivers, and the spatial and temporal distribution of the main pollutants in the Shanghai Sea were analyzed. The results showed that pollutant fluxes generally changed with the season. The pollutant contribution of the Changjiang River was much larger than that of the Huangpu River. The main pollutant of both the Changjiang River and the Huangpu River was total phosphorus(TP).The main wastewater discharge systems in Shanghai City were also the main sources of nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) to the Shanghai Sea.Finally, responsive control countermeasures are proposed.
