A control study of Kuangxining combined with lithium carbonate in the treatment of manic episode

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Kuangxining combined with lithium carbonate in the treatment of manic episode.Methods:120 patients with manic episode were randomly divided into study group(n=60,Kuangxining combined with lithium carbonate) and control group(n=60,lithium carbonate),treatment for 6 weeks.Using BRMS and the TESS to assess the efficacy and adverse reactions,and compared.Results:After treatment of 2,4,6 week,two groups of BRMS scores were decreased than that before treatment,there were statistical differences(P0.05 or P0.01).The less points of study group was significant compared with control group at the 1st,2nd weekend(P0.05);the minus points difference oftwo groups at the 6th weekend was not statistically significant(P0.05).The side reaction of research group is lower,and the patients are more likely to accept.Conclusion:Kuangxining combined with lithium carbonate has fast onset,more effective,less adverse reactions,safety and compliance,and it is worthy of clinical application.
