Abstract

A new method was proposed for the determination of trace Mercury by hydride generation -atomic fiuorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS) in water and waste water. using 6 % HNO 3 solution as medium, the detection limit of the proposed method was found to be 0.02 mg/L and the RSD was 2.9 %. The method was successfully applied to the determination of mercury in six kinds of water samples with the recovery range of 98 %~101 % .
