Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of different diets on the vagus nerve reflex in patients with nerve intervention. Methods Clinical data of 120 patients undergoing cerebrovascular intervention during October 2012 and September 2013 was retrospectively analyzed, and the patients were divided into control group( n = 61) and observation group( n = 59). The control group underwent fasting preoperative 12 h,interdicting drink preoperative 4h and drinking water postoperative 1h; the observation group did not undergo preoperative fasting and interdicting drink, and for patients, who were not the first operation of clinicians, should eat 50% semi-liquid diet in preoperative 2 h,Incidence rates of intraoperative and postoperative vagus nerve reflex in the two groups were observed. Results Thirteen patients in control group had vagus nerve reflex in different degrees, while only 2 patients in observation group had low blood pressure, and the differences in the two groups were statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion Patients undergoing nerve intervention do not need preoperative fasting and interdicting drink, and conventional diet nursing care can reduce the incidence rate of perioperative vagus nerve reflex and improve the surgical success rate.
