Clinical Analysis of Thyroglossal Cyst and Fistula

Abstract

Objective To explore the diagno sis and treatment of thyroglossal cyst and fistula.Methods Total 45 cases of thyroglossal cyst and fistula treated in our Hospital from 2000 to 2007 were retrospectively reviewed.Results 14 patients were male and 31 patients were female,the age ranged from 2～60 years old,average 35.1 years old.All the patients were operated and had been pathological proved.They were observed for 6～36 months after the surgry.3 patients recurred.Conclusion Incisions choosing,treatment to hyoid and stump are the key of operation for thyroglossal cyst and fistula.
