An urban street block is one of the primary elements of a city. And the degree to which a city is sustainable is affected both by the form of urban street blocks and also by the composition of activities it accommodates. In the book, Urban Design: Green Pimensions, C.Moughtin discusses the function, size, and form of urban street blocks by comparing with some examples of traditional urban street blocks in Europe.
