Effect of Histamine on γ-Aminobutyric Acid-ergic Neuron of Hippecampus in Seizures Rats Induced by PTZ

Abstract

Objective: To explore the possible mechanism of histamine in seizure. Methods: To study the influence of histamine on -amInobutyric acid immunoreactivity by using immunohistochemistry method. Results: The number and optical density of GABA、 GAD_ 67 in hippocampus of pentylentetrazole(PTZ) group rats was lower than that of control group rats. The number and optical density of GABA, GAD_ 67 in hippocampus of L-histidine group rats was higher than that of PTZ group rats, there was no significant difference between the rats of L-histidine group and control group. Conclusions: Histamine may reinforce the activity and excitability of GABA-ergic neuron in hippocampus. The development and episode of epilepsy were reinforced.
