Abstract

Abstract This chapter describes the invasion of freshwater ecosystems in India by alien macrophytes, discusses the impact of plant invasion on freshwater ecosystems, and presents some strategies for the management of aquatic invasions. A preliminary checklist of aquatic alien plant species found in the Indian freshwater ecosystems is included.
