Abstract
Residual toxicity of six insecticides viz., spinosad (Taffin) 45 SC, indoxacarb (Avaunt 15.8 EC), imidacloprid (Tatamida 17.8 SL), dimethoate (Rogor 30 EC), cypermethrin (Cypercure 25 EC) and emamectin benzoate (Rilon 5 SG) against first and second instar brinjal shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee.) is reported. Emamectin benzoate 0.002 per cent showed the highest persistent toxicity index (PT) values of 986.72 and 872.20 and LT50 values of 8.88 and 6.66 days against first and second instar larvae respectively as compared to the other insecticides.
