Abstract

The study focused on the geology, geochemistry and provenance of KM 185, Jalan Gua Musang- Cameron Highland. Petrographic and major element analyses were made on 5 sedimentary rocks. The lithology of the study area are shale, sandstone, mudstone, limestone, marble, brecciated limestone, and chert. They are included in the Permian and Triassic age. Petrographic analysis shows that the source rock of sedimentary rocks in the study area was recycled orogen, which by mean the mixture grain of igneous and meatamorphic sediments were found. Geochemistry analysed the Index of Compositional Variability (ICV), Chemical Index of Alteration (CIA), Si02- Al₂0₃+K₂0 + Na₂0 diagram and Al₂0₃ - CaO+ Na₂0 - K₂0 (A-CN-K). Passive margin was obtained, and the average value of CIA, indicate the chemical weathering process and long transportation is occurred. \n
