Traumatic Myiasis in A Dog and Ocular Myiasis in A Cat Cases due to Lucilia sericata (Diptera: Calliphoridae) Larvaes

Abstract

Summary Twelve live larvae from a cat’s eyes and and 22 live larvae from a dog’s back and neck region. Animals were brought to the Clinics of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Aydin. Upon microscopic examination, the larvae of the cat were identified as the first stage; whereas the larvae obtained from the dog were identified as the third stage of Lucilia sericata.
