Two Cases of Acinic Cell Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland in the Deep Lobe

Abstract

Acinic cell carcinoma is a relatively rare and low grade malignant tumor of the parotid gland. From April 1991 to April 2000, we treated two acinic cell carcinomas of the parotid gland in the deep lobe.Preoperation we expected to find benign tumors but they were acinic cell carcinomas. We performed a total parotidecomy and the preserved facial nerve, and in addition, we carried out radiotherapy. There has been no metastasis or recurrence, but we need to follow them long term.
