Abstract

Concrete and other alkaline surfaces, commonly present in processing plants and warehouses, often reduce the toxicity of insecticides. Dermestid larvae were exposed to painted, waterproofed, and untreated surfaces sprayed with formulations of either malathion or fenthion. Pretreating surfaces with certain materials minimized insecticide detoxification.
