Abstract

Streams of solutions of electorolytes or gas bubbles evolved during electrolysis are deflected by the static magnetic field when an electric current is simultaneously flowing through the solutions. The deflection depends on the direction of flow of the current & the direction of the field according to electromagnetic laws, but is independent of the nature of the ions or the gases. It depends on the system of electrolysis, the shape of electrodes, the type of electrolytic cells. This motion of electrolytes and gases is invisible in the alternating magnetic field.
