Abstract

Summary EMD (Empirical Mode Decomposition) and HHT (Hilbert-Huang Transformation) are prominent method of signal separation and time-frequency analysis for the industrial frequency noise, so we can design a HHT notch filter to eliminate the industrial frequency noise in seismic data. Based on the EMD decomposition and HHT calculation the industrial frequency noise contained in seismic data can be completely separated, and we can get a better result corresponding to the industrial frequency noise in the HHT time-frequency domain. The results of HHT notch filter denoising experiment on seismic signal with industrial frequency noise indicated that this method can effectively suppress noise and retain effective signal. Compared with other FFT-based filtering method, the EMD and HHT method is the better.
