Abstract

Landsat-5 TM images were combined with tide information to create digital elevation model of tidal flats in western coasts of Korea. The shore lines of tidal flat extracted from multi-date images with different water heights were digitally combined with tide information in order to create a digital elevation model (DEM).The obtained DEM of tidal flats is used for simulation of inundation period according to a tidal movement. This DEM can also contribute to characterizing topography and monitoring morphological change of tidal flats.
