Abstract
Parathion and methyl parathion were applied to cabbage at rates of 1, 2, and 4 lb actual per acre and to Southern peas at 2 and 4 lb actual per acre and resulting residues were determined, Applications were made during the fruiting stage of the crops. Residues were determined by gas chromatographic methods, Analysis of cabbage samples indicated that residues following all treatments were below the present tolerance level of 1 ppm by 14 days after application. The short interval between applications and the high rates of application resulted in residues of methyl parathion and parathion in excess of 1 ppm in the peas and most hulls of Southern peas 5 days after the last application.
