Abstract
Controlled, non-erosion discharge from stormwater management basins is integral to project success. However, it is sometimes not practical to locate the outfall adjacent to a surface water body or a well-protected drainage feature. In certain cases, the cost to construct the outfall in an "ideal" location can prevent or restrict project development. The ability to economically construct an outfall structure that exceeds performance criteria in an area removed from the "ideal" location can make a difference in project feasibility.
