Abstract

Chemical and spectrographic analysies of the carbonate minerals associated with serpentine from 8 localities have been. made with the following results: (1) The carbonate minerals associating with serpentine were produced at the same time as serpentinization. (2) The aragonite, filling up the fissures in the serpentine, is genetically affected by Mg salt. (3) Ni, Mn, Sr, Ti, Cr, V and P have been recognized as minor elements in these Carbonate minerals, and their origin is considered.
