Abstract

Urethritis is an infection or inflammation of the anterior urethra most commonly caused by chlamydia or gonorrhea. Complications of chlamydial urethritis include epididymitis, proctitis, and Reiter's syndrome. Complications of gonococcal urethritis include disseminated infection, urethral stricture, proctitis, and epididymitis.
